Our Chief Product Officer Brian Pollack, PhD, has been recognized among the laureates of the 2025 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics, joining collaborators from CERN’s Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment whose collective work advanced our understanding of the universe at the most fundamental level.

“It’s an honor to be on the receiving end of such a prestigious award. Physics trained me to trust the signal, question the noise, and test everything. At IA, that translates into instrumentation at scale and product decisions we can measure in the real world—helping customers act on their transportation data in real time.” - Brian Pollack, Chief Product Officer

What is the Breakthrough Prize?

Governed by a board of globally recognized technology and science leaders—including Huda Zoghbi, Anne Wojcicki, Mark Zuckerberg, and Yuri Milner, the Breakthrough Prize is widely regarded as “the Oscars® of Science.”

With a mission of celebrating individual achievement and honoring scientists as heroes of our society, inspiring the next generation of scientists, and championing science for the benefit of all as a global, apolitical organization, the Breakthrough Prize honors transformative achievements in fundamental physics, life sciences, and mathematics each year.

This year’s Fundamental Physics honor recognized co-authors from CERN’s Large Hadron Collider’s CMS collaboration for research based on Run-2 data—work that included precision measurements of the Higgs boson and exploration of rare processes and matter–antimatter asymmetry. Brian Pollack is named among the laureates on the foundation’s official list.

Why it matters for Intelligent Audit

Brian’s background shapes how we build—and how shippers benefit:

  • Signal from noise at enterprise scale. Collider physics is about extracting rare, meaningful signals from massive data streams. That mindset informs IA’s AI-Powered Anomaly Detection—surfacing "something wrong" in real time with clear next actions.
  • Instrumentation and auditability. We design products with robust data lineage and guardrails against drift so operations teams can trust the data they receive from our platform.
  • Evidence over assumption. Features ship with measurable outcomes, rather than model metrics alone. That’s how we turn complex logistics data into decisions customers can act on in real time.

Brian said it well: physics trained him to trust the signal, question the noise, and test everything—and that’s how we help customers act on transportation data in real time.

“Brian’s recognition among the 2025 Breakthrough Prize laureates underscores the kind of leadership we prize at IA: turning overwhelming data into simple, confident decisions. He’s raised the bar on product rigor and built a culturewhere outcomes for shippers—savings, reliability, and speed—come first.” - Hannah Testani, CEO

The bigger picture

Recognition like this validates the mindset we bring to customers every day: rigorous science translated into practical software that helps enterprises Ship Smarter.
