FedEx, UPS, USPS and Amazon Shipping have now released their 2026 holiday pricing. The earliest charges begin in late September, and most remain in place through mid-January. Standard per-package increases may look modest. Across a high-volume parcel network, they add up fast.
Then there are the less modest fees. Large, heavy and nonstandard packages can trigger holiday surcharges well above $100. Packages that exceed carrier limits can cost close to $600 more. For some UPS and FedEx customers, weekly volume can also determine the rate applied to every eligible package.
In other words, there is no single “peak surcharge” to plug into the budget. The real impact depends on when, where and how each package moves.
Here is the quick read on each carrier’s 2026 holiday pricing, with links to our complete breakdowns.
FedEx fees begin Sept. 28 and peak from Nov. 23 through Dec. 27. Enterprise shippers moving more than 20,000 eligible packages in a week can trigger additional residential fees when volume rises more than 5% above the June baseline.

How quickly can 2026 holiday shipping fees add up?
A $0.75 fee adds $375,000 across 500,000 packages. Small charges scale quickly, while the largest fees can reshape the economics of individual products. Shippers need to model each carrier’s rules against actual package data, not one blended peak-season estimate.
Intelligent Audit helps transportation teams model carrier pricing, compare scenarios and validate charges at the package level. Know where the cost is coming from before it becomes a peak-season surprise.
